When Hire Station approach us they had an e-commerce website in place. However, with the emergence of new technologies and rapidly changing needs, Hire Station needed a new e-commerce website that was more flexible, scalable and provided customers with easy way to hire products. This would enable them to drive their business forward digitally.
We worked extensively with Hire Station to understand their customer journey and competitive business arena. We then designed and developed a robust and scalable e-commerce website built on cutting edge web technologies that significantly enhanced the user experience. Hire Station required their e-commerce website to deliver sustainable competitive advantage and automated processing, which we achieved by successfully integrating the e-commerce website with their internal G42 back office system.
In addition to the integration, we added a diary booking system with realtime stock checking and the ability for Hire Station to duplicate and rebrand the e-commerce website for use with other bluechip organisations such as Homebase and Argos. Finally to give Hire Station a mobile presence we designed and developed a native iOS application that is also integrated into their back office system. The app can be download from the Apple App Store.
Award winning results
The feedback from Hire Station has been extremely positive and indicates that the new website is exciting and engaging for customers, yet intuitive and very simple to use. It fully supports users through every step of the hire process from initial research through to sale and significantly contributes to the Hire Stations sales revenue. More recently, we added an instore ordering system that has been adopted by Homebase, thereby further increasing Hire Stations sales revenue.
The e-commerce website won the best website of the year 2012 at the Hire Association of Europe’s Awards of Excellence.
